MILK HYGIENE

The subject is delivered during term VIII during year IV of the uniform master degree studies at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.

The subject belongs to the group of vocational subjects preparing the future veterinary surgeons for work for the Veterinary Inspection. Within the framework of the lectures and classes, students get acquainted with the legal requirements of registration of production farms and processing plants, evaluation of hygienic quality of milk as raw material, conditions of local, marginal and limited production as well as production of traditional dairy products. Moreover, the scope of the subject includes the principles of Good Production Practice and the HACCP system as well as organisation of control tests for chemical, biological and veterinary drugs’ residues within the framework of the National Programme of testing the products of animal origin.
