With the establishment of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in 1966 at the University of Agriculture and Technology, Division of Pharmacology and Division of Toxicology at Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology were established. First head of Division of Pharmacology was prof. dr. Kazimierz Kalinowski. He held this function from 1966-1976. In 1970 Division of Pharmacology was attached to Institute of Basic Veterinary Science. In the years 1976-1977 pharmacology lectures were conducted by doc. dr hab. Mieczysław Filczewski. Since 1978 to 1999 prof. dr hab. Ireneusz Dynarowicz was the head of Division of Pharmacology. After the dissolution of the Institute in 1991, this unit functioned as Department of Pharmacology to 2003. After the Faculty restructuring in 2003, Division of Pharmacology as a part of Department of Pathology and Pharmacology was created. From 1999-2004 dr Jerzy Jaroszewski was carrying out the duties of a head of Division. When he got his habilitation in 2004, he held the function of the head of Division of Pharmacology from 2004-2008. First head of Division of Toxiciology was doc. dr hab. Zofia Kalinowska, who held this function to 1977. The Division stuff in 1967-1970 conducted botany and veterinary toxicology lectured. At the Faculty of Water Protection and Inland Fisheries they conducted in 1973-1978 toxicology of water and hydrobiont lectured. In 1970-1991 Division of Toxicology was attached to Institute of Basic Veterinary Science. From 1977-1982 dr Arkadiusz Zasadowski was carrying out the duties of a head of Division. When he got his habilitation in 1982, he became the head of Division. In 1992 Division of Toxicology changed its name to Division of Veterinary and Environmental Toxicology. After the Faculty restructuring in 2003, Division of Veterinary and Environmental Toxicology as a part of Department of Pathology and Pharmacology was created. Prof. dr hab. Arkadiusz Zasadowski was the head of this Division to 2008. In 2003-2008 Division staff conducted pharmacology lectures at the Biology Faculty (field of nursing). Since 2009 Division of Pharmacology and Division of Toxicology are functioned as Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology. The head of Department is prof. dr hab. Jerzy Jaroszewski.
